Hunters has announced the acquisition of The Letting Company by the franchise’s Bridgend office.

Managed by franchise partner Luke Jones, Hunters Bridgend has rapidly grown its rental portfolio since August 2022, having tripled in size to 600 properties.

Jones has been with Hunters since 2017, having operated as an independent lettings agent from 2010 and a selling agent since 2013. He received notice from The Lettings Company that the owners were looking to sell earlier this year and subsequently decided to purchase the company, acquiring a portfolio of 150 rental properties.

Jones commented: “The acquisition of The Lettings Company marks a period of explosive growth for Hunters Bridgend. Last August we managed 175 properties, by September this had grown to 300.

“Following another acquisition of a portfolio of 75 properties earlier this year, and now the purchase of The Lettings Company, our portfolio has expanded to 600 properties.

“We also look forward to assisting more Welsh landlords with upcoming legislative changes affecting lettings agreements and electrical certification.”

Hunters Bridgend’s growth in the rental market has been complimented by a recent partnership with B-Hive, the block management company.

Hunters Bridgend now offer estate and block management services across the whole of South Wales further adding to the services we offer in the area. will provide services for managing communal areas and gardens, highlighting the office’s diverse skillset.

Rob Smith, managing director at Hunters, said “Hunters Bridgend is a shining example of what can be achieved in the Welsh rental market. Despite adverse economic circumstances affecting the broader UK rental market, this office has achieved immense growth in the past year. With this latest acquisition, we’re looking forward to watching Hunters Bridgend move from strength to strength.”
