Estate agency offers to sell homes for free

Dwellings Estate Agents in Burton is currently offering to sell residential properties for free.

The move is designed to mark the one year opening of the firm’s office in Guild Street, Burton town centre.

When Dwellings Estate Agents first opened, it offered to sell the homes of NHS staff for free to acknowledge their heroic efforts throughout the Covid pandemic. Now the company is revisiting that marketing initiative.

The estate agency will this time be selling properties of anyone wanting to put their homes on the market for free throughout October – for one month only.

Dwellings will not charge vendors any commission, although its terms and conditions will naturally apply.

The offer includes professional photographs, a floor plan, website listings, premium listings on the main property portals – Rightmove, Zoopla and On the Market – enhanced social media advertising, a virtual tour, ‘for sale’ boards, concise property details, expert sales progression and viewings.

Kelsey Barnes, of Dwellings Estate Agents, said: “It has been very challenging in terms of being a new business and trying to get onto the market but now we are getting more vendors and happy vendors.

“If you look at our Google reviews you will see that everyone has been really happy with our service for a nominal price. We have gone from strength to strength as we continue to grow the business.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to our customers and those who have supported the business by simply sharing stuff on Facebook. Last year we sold homes of NHS staff for free in November and we helped a young lad whose bike was stolen.

“We’re very much a community-focused business and that’s one of our core principles. To show our gratitude to the folk of Burton we would like to give anybody who is looking to sell their property to sell their home for completely free in the month of October.

“Anyone listing with us will does not need to pay us a single penny and there is no catch or contract.”

FREE, sure……Next they’ll be setting up a taxi company that offers to drive you for FREE, but simply won’t turn up!

On the face of it, yes.   But I wonder how much publicity it will draw and residual business  ?
