Seeing double – mystery of the duplicate images appears again

Readers may recall the story we ran in May concerning Mark Ashley and Company, a firm of estate agents in North London.

Several of their sales listings across the country carried images that were identical to those used by other agents for completely different properties in completely different areas.

As a result of investigation, Rightmove removed Mark Ashley and Company from the portal.

Zoopla took off the questionable listings saying:

We have a zero tolerance approach towards misleading listings and will take action against agents that fail to follow our guidelines including the potential removal of their account. The listings in question have been removed.”

Here now is another, current listing, from Mark Ashley and Company.

A three bed semi in Leinster Close, Cheltenham for £225,000.

And here is a three bed detached bungalow in Penwortham, near Preston that was once listed on Rightmove by Holdens. It shares remarkably similar layout, decor, and furniture to the Mark Ashley and Company listing in Cheltenham.

If they are as dodgy as this at listings, i dread to think what other skellingtons are in the closet.

Well… looks like Zoopla have taken action.  For what it’s worth.

The subject listing has been removed – leaving 54 – the majority of which appear highly dubious.

Instead of “…looking into claims made on the company’s website”, Trading Standards could do a lot worse with their time than turn up and carry out an audit of this ‘Agents’ stock.

After all, this is being allowed to happen on their watch.

The guys at Mark Ashley obviously don’t rely on reviews to drive their business
