It is unlikely to have escaped your attention that there’s a new property-world glitz and glamour show to watch from this weekend.
The BBC Two series Crazy Rich Agents: Selling Dream Homes arrives on the channel and on iPlayer from Sunday 6 August at 9pm.
The Beeb tells us that in the series five newbie luxury estate agents have given up their old jobs to try and make it in the world of high-end housing. At stake: the chance to take home commission on million-pound mansions in the UK and beyond.
There’s a former care home behavioural therapist, an international model, a building society worker, a Dubai estate agent, and a former music producer: their backgrounds are unique, but they all want to become luxury real estate’s next big thing.
We follow the rookies over the so-called ‘summer killing season’ as they try and win luxury listings, throw extravagant open houses, and charm millionaire clients. But they soon find out that the commission is hard won with sales falling through and difficult VIP clients.
Working for Nest Seekers’ [yes, it does exist] new London branch, the newbies have given up not just their jobs but their salaries too: they only get paid if they make a sale.
Who will survive long enough to take home a paycheck, and who will decide the high-end hustle isn’t for them?
EYE will be watching through gritted teeth (you think that’s not physically possible?) and hoping that it doesn’t turn out to be a cross between Love Island, The Apprentice, and Glengarry Glen Ross.
I hope you’re getting commission for the advertising PIE.
A brief overview of this garbage and it looks like it will be as bad as the title suggests.

Oh dear. I trust this will not clash with Antiques Roadshow.
